DigiFlash uses the WordPress Navigation block for menu management through the Site Editor. Unlike classic themes, navigation menus are created and edited directly within your header template.
DigiBlocks Navigation
If you have DigiBlocks installed, use the DigiBlocks Navigation block instead of the default WordPress Navigation block. The DigiBlocks Navigation block provides advanced settings including enhanced styling options, animation effects, and extended mobile menu controls.
Accessing Navigation Menus
Navigate to Appearance → Editor to open the Site Editor. Click on the header area of your site preview, or select Patterns → Template Parts → Header from the sidebar. The Navigation block appears in your header template.
Click on the Navigation block to display editing options in the toolbar.
Adding Menu Items
With the Navigation block selected, click the + icon or Add block button within the navigation. Choose from:
- Page Link – Links to existing pages
- Custom Link – Links to any URL
- Home Link – Links to your homepage
- Submenu – Creates dropdown menus
Type to search for pages or enter custom URLs directly in the link field.
Removing Menu Items
Click on any menu item to select it, then press the Delete key or click the three dots menu and select Remove. The menu item disappears immediately.
Creating Submenus
Select an existing menu item and click the three dots menu in the toolbar. Choose Add submenu. The submenu appears indented below the parent item. Add links to the submenu using the same process as main menu items.
Submenus display as dropdown menus on the front end.
Reordering Menu Items
Click and drag menu items to reorder them. A blue line indicates where the item will be placed when you release. Drag items left to move them out of submenus or right to nest them within submenus.
Navigation Block Settings
Select the Navigation block (not individual items) to access layout options:
- Orientation – Horizontal or vertical menu layout
- Justification – Left, center, or right alignment
- Overlay Menu – Mobile hamburger menu settings
- Open on Click – Controls submenu behavior
Styling Navigation Items
Select individual menu items to change text color, background color, typography, and spacing through the block settings panel. These styles apply only to the selected item.
For global navigation styling, select the entire Navigation block and adjust settings in the Styles panel.
Multiple Navigation Menus
DigiFlash supports multiple navigation menus. Create additional Navigation blocks in your footer template or other template parts by adding a new Navigation block and building the menu structure.
Each Navigation block functions independently with its own menu items and styling.
Mobile Navigation
DigiFlash automatically converts navigation menus to a responsive hamburger menu on mobile devices. Configure the mobile menu icon and overlay settings by selecting the Navigation block and accessing the Overlay Menu settings.
Saving Navigation Changes
Click Save in the Site Editor toolbar to publish navigation changes. Your updated menu appears immediately on the live site.
